After all the heavy reading I’ve been doing I thought something a little more light-hearted was in order. This book is an easy read, engaging and fast-paced. However:
Trigger Warning! Some disturbing content pertaining to rape and SA.
Stephanie Plum is down on her luck, just laid off, selling belongings just to keep the lights on, when she takes a job as a recovery agent (bounty hunter) that has a personal twist to it. Shenanigans ensue.
Written in the 90’s, I feel this book reflects the attitude of society toward women at the time. The main character navigates this with spunk, mostly.
Overall a fun and entertaining, while somewhat heavy, read. I’ll definitely be reading more of this series to see how it develops.
