Mesmerized by Solo By Kwame Alexander with Mary Rand Hess

Solo by Kwame Alexander is so lovely it hurts. This is music in prose form. This book deserves your time. It’s written in an unusual, melodic, lyrical way, but you’ll quickly get used to it and fall into the rhythm. You’ll find it strangely peaceful and mildly addictive, until you realize that more books should be written this way. It’ll play out in your head like a bit of musical theater or a movie or a rock opera. The main character will let you know which songs to listen to for the soundtrack.

It is a good feeling
not to be recognised
and still noticed.
